Oleh Luzhnyi gave a candid interview

Legendary Ukrainian footballer and former Arsenal London defender Oleh Luzhnyi stated that the current Dynamo Kyiv lacks both players and a coach. The 55-year-old is baffled by how a coach can lose everything.

"He can't secure a spot in the Europa League, the Champions League, and even the Conference League - this is the first time in history! and still retain the position of a coach. Maybe I don't understand something in this situation?" Luzhnyi was quoted as saying by tribuna.com.

According to Oleh Romanovych, Mircea Lucescu has driven Dynamo into a crisis.

"If there was someone else, a Ukrainian coach, bloggers, and journalists would have hounded him to I don't know where - they would have deported him from the country. They would have said that such a coach cannot remain in the country, but no one writes anything negative about Lucescu. Although he has led the team to the bottom, which cannot be any deeper," Luzhnyi stated.

The legend of Ukrainian football is deeply concerned about his former club.

"Dynamo Kyiv is a team of a higher caliber, a Champions League team. They have always played in the Champions League, but now they can't even secure a place in the Conference League. The quality of the players is very poor. They are very weak. The level of Dynamo Kyiv's players does not correspond to the 10th place in the UPL," Luzhnyi concluded.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on October 22, Dynamo suffered its second consecutive defeat in the UPL. On the pitch at the Lobanovskyi Stadium in the capital, Lucescu's team was defeated by Dnipro-1 with a score of 0:1. On October 6, the White and Blues lost to Polissia from Zhytomyr in an incredibly thrilling away match, with a final score of 2:3.
