Real Madrid's Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois made a shameful gaffe in the match of the 6th round of the Spanish championship against Espanyol. The main competitor of Ukraine's goalkeeper Andriy Lunin for a place in the starting lineup scored an own goal.
In the 54th minute, after a shot by Joffre Carreras, Courtois tried to repel the shot with his feet, but instead cut the ball into his own net.
According to the statistical portal Opta, the 34-year-old Belgian became the first Real Madrid goalkeeper in the 21st century to score an own goal.
