Like after the apocalypse. A video from a popular resort in Crimea, which was visited by the Russian military, was shown online
Mykolayivka resort in the temporarily occupied Crimea looks deplorable

The Russian-speaking blogger showed the now-occupied village of Mykolayivka in the Simferopol district of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, where the Russian military had previously visited. The once attractive tourist destination has turned into an abandoned ruin with not a single living soul around.

The author of the video called modern Mykolaivka "similar to Chernobyl" because the coastal infrastructure, beaches and sheds looked like they had been destroyed after the apocalypse. The video was published by one of the Crimean publics.

Open sources say that Mykolayivka used to have as many as 23 recreation centers, 8 boarding houses, a House of Culture, a church, a school, and a kindergarten. Now the place is abandoned, littered with bags, garbage, and ruins of stone buildings.

Tourism in Mykolaivka used to bring income to its residents. Now, former cafes with Ukrainian symbols have been abandoned, and recreation centers have become uninhabitable.

"It feels like I'm in Chernobyl somewhere. This is Mykolaivka! I understand that even the military were here," said the author of the video.

A Russian regiment is reportedly located just 13 kilometers away, and the Kacha airfield is 20 kilometers away.

As OBOZ.UA wrote earlier, the holiday season in Crimea is under the threat of disruption, and boarding houses may close in June. Russians are afraid to go to the occupied peninsula even for free.
