34-year-old Froilanis Mayrett Rivas Roman, a mother of two, came with her family to a Colombian beach. However, the woman did not return home, falling victim to a natural disaster.
The Venezuelan citizen was killed by a lightning strike, the Daily Mail reports. The moment was recorded by one of the surveillance cameras.
The video shows a woman standing along the coast before a streak of light suddenly hits her. A tourist passing by was also struck by lightning, but managed to survive.
According to the authorities, Froilanis died of cardiorespiratory arrest caused by the blow. The Colombian woman is survived by her son and daughter, whose photos she regularly shared on her social media page.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the chances of being struck by lightning are one in a million, but almost 90 percent of victims survive.
