Lenovo has developed a laptop that automatically turns the screen to the user: the result is in the video
Lenovo demonstrated its Auto Twist AI PC concept, which can track movements and turn its display to face the user. The laptop can transform into different modes in response to voice commands.
The ThinkBook Auto Twist AI PC, Lenovo's latest concept notebook, has a hinge that can be rotated in any direction and folds the screen flat for tablet mode. Experts spoke in detail about the new product and showed a video of the presentation.
Twist AI is a motorized version of the Twistable form factor that has been around for over 20 years. Most modern 2-in-1 laptops have 360-degree hinges that allow them to fold back into tablet mode with the keyboard facing out.
HP and Acer released convertible laptops back in 2002 - they rotated on a central hinge and then folded over the keyboard. When HP and Lenovo briefly revived the form factor in 2012, they began to be called traditional tablets-transformers.
The peculiarity of Lenovo Twist AI PC is that it is motorized, can obey voice commands, and automatically follows the user.
The unit responds to voice commands within 1-2 seconds, but in general, it takes about 10 seconds to transform the laptop.
Lenovo's chief communications officer Jeff Witt told The Verge that the functionality will be especially useful and convenient during video calls.
There's not a ton of AI here, just some basic things you can do with an NPU - it's the presence of an NPU that makes it an "AI computer".
Lenovo also launched its new Aura Edition multifunctional laptops, starting with the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 and Yoga Slim 7i. They are primarily distinguished by software, which is essentially an extended or updated version of what is available in Windows, as well as access to a kind of personalized support (for example, HP Dragonfly Pro). For example, Attention allows you to set attention timers and mute notifications. Collaboration enables a user-defined set of Windows Studio effects. Smart Share is similar to Windows Unison, but smoother.
The laptops were created jointly with Intel, so they are based on the new Core Ultra 200V series processors.
