During their visit to Kenya, King Charles III of the United Kingdom and Queen Consort Camilla met Samuel Ntigai Mburia, who claims to have been alive for 117 years. If you believe that he was born in 1906, the Kenyan can be considered the oldest man on Earth known to exist.

However, the rulers of the United Kingdom were not interested in his age, but in his life achievements. Namely, his service in the army in his younger years. The meeting with Samuel Ntigai Mburia was reported on the royal family's official social media page (scroll to the bottom of the page to see photos and videos).

The Kenyan claims to have served in the British army in the Far East during World War II. Some soldiers lost their medals, so many years later, the King decided to personally present similar awards to former soldiers.

The British ruler took the veteran's hand and said: "You are incredible. You set a great example for us." At this time, the Kenyan was sitting in a wheelchair in front of the British monarchs and smiling.

During the Mau Mau anti-colonial uprising in Kenya in 1952-1960, many Kenyan army veterans who fought in World War II on the side of the British lost their medals. In 2023, their children brought their parents to the king to have this problem rectified and to express gratitude for their service.

We would like to add that Samvel Ntigai Mburia is not a Guinness World Record holder or officially recognized as the world's oldest man due to the inability to prove his date of birth.

Nowadays, it is believed that the oldest man alive who can confirm his date of birth, Juan Vicente Perez, is 114 years old.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA wrote that Johanna Mazibuko, a resident of South Africa, who was called the oldest woman in the world, died at the age of 128. The woman lived in three different centuries and spent her last days in her home in the North West Province of South Africa.
