Kia Stonic has risen in price due to updated specifications: all about the model to be released in 2025

The compact and inexpensive Kia Stonic crossover will undergo significant improvements in the 2025 model year. Of course, this will affect its price.

All the changes were collected by the Australian publication Car Expert. For the country, the updated model will be turbocharged in all configurations.

Technical updates

The cost of the car will start at $25,460 for the base S version. It will come standard with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine. It will also have a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

For comparison, the 2024 Stonic S cost $22,290. This price was for a naturally aspirated 1.4-liter gasoline engine with a six-speed manual transmission. If the model had an optional six-speed automatic transmission, it was priced at $23,790.

Model enhancements include options such as collision avoidance assist, blind spot monitoring, front parking sensors, power-folding mirrors, and alloy wheels. They are now standard across the entire lineup.

Key upgrades for the mid-range Sport trim – excluding the new transmission and transitional equipment from the Stonic S – include a rear privacy glass, climate control, and rain-sensing wipers. The GT-Line gets all of the above upgrades, as well as LED taillights and three-stage heated front seats.

Safety of the model

Kia Stonic received a five-star safety rating from ANCAP. However, testing was also conducted in 2017 on the Rio model, which became the basis for this model. Back then, it earned 35.52 points out of 37, losing points mainly for frontal offset and pedestrian protection.

However, this rating expires in 2025. And it is not yet clear how new modifications will be tested.

Design

A total of eight Kia Stonic body colors will be available in the new model year. But any option other than standard white will cost an additional $520. There is only one interior color available – black.

The lineup will include the following body shades:

• Snow White Pearl;
• Sparkling Silver;
• Astro Gray;
• Aurora Black Pearl;
• Signal Red;
• Sporty Blue;
• Honeybee.
