"It is difficult to work with them": Rebrov speaks about UEFA's important decision on Euro 2024

The decision of the European Football Union (UEFA) to expand the number of players for the 2024 UEFA European Championship in Germany from 23 to 26 was blocked by the top national teams. The national teams among the tournament favorites feared a deterioration in the situation within the teams due to the need to "unhook" players from the squad for a particular match.

This was stated by the head coach of the Ukrainian national team Serhii Rebrov in an interview with Dynamo Kyiv from Shurik. The "Blue and Yellows" coach fully supported UEFA's decision and also noted that he is preparing to announce an application for the continental championship on June 7, as required by UEFA.

"I know that the top teams had a problem with this issue. They didn't understand how to use these 'extra' players in the training process and how to then 'unhook' three players from the application for a particular match. Such teams have many stars, it is difficult to work with them. We do not have such a problem. I'm grateful to all the guys – both those who played on the field and those who were not included in the application. We have always remained a united team and it is thanks to this that we reached Euro 2024," said Rebrov.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian national team will play in Group E at Euro 2024, where its rivals will be the teams of Belgium, Slovakia, and Romania.
