It became known how much Ukrainian winners of the 2024 Olympics will be paid

Gutzeit revealed the prize money for the 2024 Olympics

The prize money for Ukrainian athletes who win medals at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris will remain at the same level as in Tokyo 2020. Our country, which continues to resist the unmotivated Russian aggression, cannot afford to increase the already considerable amounts.

This was stated by Vadym Hutzeit, President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, in an interview with sport-express.ua. According to him, the champions of the Games in the French capital will receive $125,000 each, the silver medalists can count on $100,000, and the bronze medalists will be paid $80,000 in American currency.

"Indeed, the premiums remained the same as they were in Tokyo. 125 thousand dollars for gold, 100 for silver, and 80 for bronze. This is not a small amount of money. You need to understand that our country is at war, and in times of war, these are especially large sums of money. If we have athletes with gold medals, God willing, they will receive $125,000 in bonuses plus a presidential scholarship. You know, this is significant support for every athlete," Gutzeit said.

As a reminder, Ukraine's national team at the 2024 Olympic Games will be represented by 140 athletes in 23 sports. The competitions will take place in the French capital from July 26 to August 11.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Ukrainian athletes refused to shake hands with Russians at the Olympic Games in Paris, which caused hysteria in Russia.
