iPhone SE 4 will be released earlier than expected: what will the new product look like
Apple has planned a presentation for the coming spring, during which, among other things, the updated, already fourth iPhone SE will be presented. And it seems that this presentation will take place a bit earlier than expected.
According to MacRumors, which managed to get acquainted with the company's supply chain report, the release of the new smartphone is almost confirmed in the first quarter of 2025. More precisely, in March. And it seems that it will be presented with a 5G modem developed by Apple. Thus, we should expect the new product to be unveiled in March.
The fourth-generation iPhone SE is expected to have the same design as the basic iPhone 14. Rumors point to a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID technology, a new A-series chip, a USB-C connector, one 48-megapixel rear camera, 8 GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence, and the previously mentioned 5G modem created by Apple itself.
The development of such a modem will allow the company to significantly reduce its dependence on Qualcomm parts. Earlier this year, Apple extended its 5G modem supply agreement with Qualcomm for the launch of the iPhone until 2026. This will give the American manufacturer enough time to complete the transition to its own modem. However, it is unclear whether this part will have any technical advantages over the previous version, such as higher data transfer speeds.
As you know, Apple announced the third-generation iPhone SE during an online event on March 8, 2022. It was a device similar to the iPhone 8 with outdated features such as the Touch ID button, Lightning port, and thick bezels around the display. In the US, the iPhone SE now costs from $429. The price of the new model is expected to be slightly higher.
