Experts have revealed a list of the most reliable car brands as of today. The top ten are mostly expensive premium ones. And brands of affordable cars turned out to be not so great.

JD Power experts have presented a ranking of car brand reliability in 2025. They studied those made in 2022, that is, those that are 3 years old. The list was compiled based on feedback from owners..

In this case, reliability is determined by the number of breakdowns per 100 cars. For this purpose, the company has a special coefficient (PP100). As a result, here are the best brands - starting from 140 breakdowns per 100 cars and ending with 285. The average rate for the industry was 202/100.

The most reliable car brands for 2025:

1. Lexus (140);
2. Buick (143);
3. Mazda (161);
4. Toyota (162);
5. Cadillac (169);
6. Chevrolet (169);
7. GMC (181);
8. Porsche (186);
9. BMW (189);
10. Mini (190).

At the top of the list are more expensive brands, as we said, which dominate the top ten. The worst was Volkswagen with the index 285.
