In the Rakhiv district of Zakarpattia, border guards and rescuers found "tourists" in the highlands – residents of Kyiv and Donetsk regions. They wanted to illegally cross the Ukrainian-Romanian border but got lost in the Carpathians.

This was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Administrative reports were drawn up against the violators, and the further fate of the "travelers" will be decided by the court.

"Yesterday, on January 12, in Transcarpathia, border guards of the Dilove department together with specialists of the Rakhiv Mountain Search and Rescue Department were looking for three men who had lost their way and asked for help. Using a quadcopter, the border patrol managed to find the frozen and disoriented "tourists," the SBGS said.

As it turned out, the "tourists" had signs of severe hypothermia – they were taken to the Central District Hospital of Rakhiv for examination and medical care. One of them was diagnosed with superficial frostbite of the ankle and foot. At the time of the examination, the man's body temperature was 33.8 degrees.

According to the rescued, they wanted to illegally cross the Ukrainian-Romanian border. In order to realize their extreme plan, the "travelers" – two residents of Kyiv region and one resident of Donetsk region – set off for the mountains on January 5 on a self-designed route. Despite being quite well prepared to overcome the highlands, on the 7th day of the "journey" they still had to ask rescuers for help.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, in Zakarpattia, border guards detained a man and two 14-year-old boys who were heading to the Tisa with a rubber boat. As it turned out, the detained man paid $8,500 for assistance in illegal transportation to Hungary.
