On the night of January 29, the Russian occupiers attacked Kyiv with attack drones, and air defense was operating in the capital. In the morning, it became known that the wreckage of a Russian UAV had fallen near a subway station in the Darnytskyi district of the capital.
This was reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klychko. The building of the Darnytsia depot was damaged.
The mayor announced that the wreckage of the downed Shahed fell in the Darnytsia district at 06:09.
"The wreckage of an enemy UAV fell near the metro station in the Darnytskyi district of the capital. All services are on their way to the scene," Klychko wrote.
A few minutes later, he gave the first details about the consequences of the attack.
"The wreckage of the UAV that fell in the Darnytskyi district damaged the fence and a separate building of the Darnytskyi depot checkpoint. All services are at the scene. There is no fire, no victims were found," the statement said at 06:18.
According to Oleksandr Kovtunov, acting head of the Darnytsia district state administration, one car was also damaged.
"The wreckage of an enemy UAV fell in Darnytsia district, damaging a fence and a detached building. There is no fire, no casualties. All services are at the scene. According to preliminary information, one car was damaged," the official wrote, posting a photo from the scene.
At around 9 a.m., air alert was again declared in the capital due to an attack by Russian drones.
This time, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration, the fall of debris was recorded in the Desnianskyi district in an open area.
Grass and bushes caught fire. As of 09:36, the CMA claimed to have established information about the damage and victims.
As a reminder, the day before, a vintage car museum with cars from the collection of fugitive former President Viktor Yanukovych burned down as a result of a Russian drone attack in Kyiv region. He had left the cars at his Mezhyhiria residence in the Kyiv region.
