"I'd like to say about the 'decaying West'": Russian national team legend refutes Kremlin propaganda
Former Russian national football player Andrei Arshavin has contradicted Kremlin propaganda by talking about his trip to the British capital London. The 2008 European Championship bronze medalist admitted that it was difficult for him to use the narrative of the "decaying West."
Arshavin said this in an interview with Sport-Express. The former striker, who defended the colors of London's Arsenal for five seasons, has never felt comfortable in the UK, but he is fascinated by its capital.

Russia is isolated from world football.
"Many people have asked me, 'How is London? I would like to say something about the 'decaying West', but it's not. London always remains the same. It's always good - 20 years ago and now. In general, I did not like living in London. Only before the end of my contract did I feel comfortable. But my children and I really like coming there. When we walked around, we saw a stream of Israelis with flags, and in another part of the city there were Muslims. Everything is mixed in this city, and that's what makes it so great," Arshavin said.

Earlier, former Russian national footballer Konstantin Zyryanov expressed confidence that athletes from the aggressor country would be begged to compete in international competitions after everything "ends with our victory" over Ukraine.
