Alan Badoiev responded to why he didn't go to the front

Famous Ukrainian music video director and producer Alan Badoiev revealed that he struggles with his conscience for not joining the war and constantly questions himself, "Why am I not on the front lines?"

The video director shared his self-analysis in an interview with Oleksiy Sukhanov on his YouTube channel. Badoiev mentioned that many of his friends took up arms to defend Ukraine from the invaders, which led him to contemplate taking the same step.

However, he believes that he can contribute more to Ukraine's victory from the rear, not at the front lines. Badoev is currently trying to be as active as possible in supporting the military and protecting the cultural front, making his contribution to the struggle as substantial as he can.

''I won't be able to treat myself normally'': Alan Badoiev explained why he didn't go to the front

He shared, "Why am I not on the front lines? Why?" I constantly ask myself. "Why didn't I take up a rifle? Many of my friends did..." I ask myself: "Are you afraid?" "Yes, I am." "What exactly is scary?" "Many things are scary." And then another part of me says: "Do something to be able to forgive yourself. Do it." If I don't take this step, I won't be able to have a normal relationship with myself. In general, I can ask myself these difficult questions privately because I'm working on them," the director explained.

Earlier, a similar question was addressed by Dmytro Tomashpolskyi, a well-known Ukrainian film director, screenwriter, and producer, who is also a member of the Oscar Committee of Ukraine. He mentioned that a month before the full-scale invasion, he began attending firearms training classes. The filmmaker anticipated that something might happen, and he wanted to be prepared to defend his homeland if necessary. However, Tomashpolskyi is not currently involved in active combat, and you can learn why in this article.

Additionally, OBOZ.UA previously reported that Alan Badoiev strongly criticized Ani Lorak, whom he had staunchly supported for a long time. He acknowledged his mistake and addressed the issue regarding individuals with pro-Putin sentiments through a video message. For more details, you can read our article.
