Head coach of the Ukrainian national volleyball team Raul Lozano commented on the situation in the national team, where 9 volleyball players refused to play for the national team in the 2024 season. According to the Argentine specialist, he is shocked and could not even imagine this could happen in Ukraine.
"To be honest, it was a real shock for me. I was sure this was impossible in principle, and even more so in a country that had been at war for three years. After all, I came here to help Ukrainians, to further raise the prestige of this country in the international arena. And suddenly this," sport.ua quoted Lozano as saying.

The coach admitted that the most unpleasant thing about this situation is that the vast majority of refusers did not call him or come to the training camp, but passed on information through their agents.
"In this regard, I would like to emphasize that I have been working in volleyball for many years, I am constantly in contact with people and am always open to communicate with each player. Therefore, there is no need to pass me any information through third parties. Come, call, talk. Only Dmytro Viyetskyi did it right, as it should be. He came to Horodok (Khmelnytsky Oblast) himself, we talked to him and discussed all the issues," the Argentine added.
