The network showed how Hurricane Milton reached the Disney World resort in Florida, USA. On October 9, a Category 3 storm approached the state. The destruction caused by the hurricane left more than three million homes and businesses without electricity.

In particular, the X platform showed a photo of the flooded Cinderella Castle, the official symbol of Disney World. Some users noticed something wrong. As it turned out, the images were fake, either generated by artificial intelligence or made in PhotoShop:

Disney World told guests: "Please prepare to take shelter in your room or building starting at 8:30 p.m. as the storm is expected to intensify." As early as October 9, Goldman Sachs analysts were talking about possible hurricane-related closures and disruptions that would reduce Disney's earnings by $150 million to $200 million this quarter.
People who stayed at Disney World are sharing eerie videos from their hotels showing the chaos caused by the storm. One TikTok user explained that during Milton, he and his family "stayed safe in [their] room."The video shows heavy rain falling outside the window and palm trees looking like they are about to be toppled by the wind. Similarly, other users shared videos taken outside their hotel rooms. Guests of the complex noted that Disney provided them with lunch boxes with food.
