How to wrap presents for Christmas and New Year: 7 easy steps

The holiday season is in full swing: kids have already received gifts for St. Nicholas Day, and Christmas and New Year are ahead. And although many people think that celebrations are not the right time, it is important not to miss the opportunity to congratulate your loved ones because the most valuable things in life are the moments spent with your closest ones.

If you love to buy and give gifts but don't know how to wrap them properly, experts have compiled a step-by-step guide that will make the process much easier. In fact, everything is quite simple. Just a few simple steps are enough.

Create a festive atmosphere

Of course, you can simply ask for professional help and get a perfectly wrapped gift from consultants or store clerks. However, nothing creates a festive atmosphere more than a nice mess of gift boxes, bright paper, tinsel, cards and tape that stick to literally everything, and if not, then roll up into a ribbon and then try to find where the beginning is!

In fact, wrapping a gift professionally is not that difficult. So, if you have a bunch of gifts to wrap this season, follow these helpful tips.

Step 1

First, measure the wrapping paper by placing the gift on the roll and making sure the paper comes up on both sides when you fold it. A general rule of thumb is that you'll need about twice as much paper as the size of the gift box. There's nothing worse than cutting the paper first only to find out that it's too small for the gift.

Step 2

Once you have measured the paper properly, cut it carefully and evenly.

Place the gift box in the center of the paper and fold one side of the paper tightly over the gift. Place a piece of ribbon in the middle and do the same with the other side. If you want to make your life easier, you can purchase a tape dispenser.

Step 4

Next, fold the paper around the edges of the gift box, making triangular folds on both sides. Take one folded edge and wrap it across the gift box before taping it shut. Do the same with the other side.

Step 5

Fold and glue the triangular flaps at each end. Repeat the process on the opposite side to make it look like a clean, pointed triangle. The design should resemble an envelope.

Step 6

If you want to make the edges of the gift box look sharp and crisper, press them a little with your fingers. It will look more neat and stylish.

Step 7

Once your gift is perfectly wrapped, you can decorate the front with a bow, ribbon, gift tag, or something festive.
