Keeping your home clean is a continuous job, and some unobvious signs often give away untidiness and mess. Kitchen countertops, sinks, and tiled floors immediately attract attention, and usually that's where we put most of our cleaning efforts.

Dust on baseboards is easy to ignore, especially if you have to squint to see if these surfaces are clean or dirty. The experts told us how to clean the skirting boards quickly and efficiently.

Thanks to an incredibly simple life hack, you can clean baseboards with little effort.

All you need to do is take an unused dryer sheet and place it directly on the vacuum cleaner's vacuum, securing it with an elastic band.

Once the dryer sheet is in place, turn on the vacuum and run the nozzle over baseboards throughout your home. The dryer sheet will collect and hold any bits of dirt, hair, and dust that have accumulated on the baseboards.

Another benefit of using this life hack is that it helps prevent your vacuum from clogging. Accumulations of certain substances, such as sawdust or excessive amounts of dog hair, should not be vacuumed up as they can clog the appliance and cause the motor to overheat.

There are a few caveats to consider before trying this method. Disposable dryers contain microplastics, which means they are not environmentally friendly. However, you can find other options. With more and more people looking for eco-friendly cleaning products, various brands now offer vegan and biodegradable or compostable dryer sheets. They are also made from natural essential oils, so you can enjoy a clean scent without the risk of airborne irritants.
