Makeup is an art that requires certain skills and knowledge. It can be used to emphasize your natural beauty, correct imperfections, and create any look.
However, sometimes in practice, we don't get exactly what we imagined. To ensure that makeup always meets expectations, British Vogue shared simple but effective tips from YSL Beauty's Global Beauty Director Tom Pesceau, who has done makeup for many famous people, from Diana, Princess of Wales to Kate Moss.
Double coat of mascara
Make applying waterproof mascara the first step in your eye makeup routine. And after you've drawn everything you want, apply a second coat, but with regular mascara. "If you have thin lashes and apply too many layers of mascara, they can fall out during the day. With this trick, you create a solid foundation to prevent this from happening," says Tom Pesceau.
Vary the way you apply your foundation depending on the situation
Depending on what kind of tone you want to achieve, you should choose different tools for applying it. Your fingers are perfect for a translucent finish, while you should use a brush for medium coverage and a sponge for a dense tone, which is usually used during photography.
Facial massage
Pesceau begins each makeup session with a facial massage to relax the skin and prepare it for the application of cosmetics.
Concealer can come in handy in many situations
Concealer is great for light contouring. Try drawing a diagonal line going up through each cheek, blending it, and then applying bronzer to the highest part of the cheekbones with a brush.
A nude palette should be in every makeup bag
Leading makeup artists tend to favor nude eyeshadow palettes. According to Tom Pesceau, they are a staple in the work of professionals and are used much more often than any other fashionable and bright products.
