Homemade garlic bread is the perfect pastry for those who appreciate flavorful and tender home cooking. This recipe uses fluffy yeast dough, spicy garlic filling with spices, butter and cheese. The cooking process involves simple steps: kneading the dough, creating a rich filling and baking, which will give you an appetizing crust and a soft core.

Ingredients for the dough:

  • flour - 350 g
  • milk - 200 ml.
  • yeast - 8 g (dry)
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • sugar - 2 tsp
  • butter - 40 g

Ingredients for the filling:

  • garlic - 1 head
  • salt - to taste
  • pepper - to taste
  • olive oil - 10 ml.
  • rosemary/oregano - 2 sprigs
  • butter - 70 g
  • Provencal herbs - 1 tbsp.
  • gouda cheese - 50 g. (or any other)

Method of preparation:

1. Sift the flour into a deep bowl, make a well in the middle and pour in the warm milk.

2. Add salt and sugar, mix and pour in the melted butter.

3. Stir, leave for 5 minutes (cover with a towel).

4. Knead soft, non-sticky dough.

5. Cover and place in a warm place for 40 minutes.

6. For the filling, peel the garlic and put it in a small deep bowl, add the spices, oil and sprigs of rosemary or oregano.

7. Cover with foil and put in the oven.

8. Cook until tender (220 g15-20 minutes).

9. Then remove, cool and combine with butter (70 g) at room temperature.

10. Stir - the filling is ready.

11. Roll out the dough a little, then brush it with the spread.

12. Add a little cheese, slice, fold the dough on top of each other, and put it in the mold.

13. Put back in a warm place for 25-30 minutes.

14. Then put the rest of the spread on top, a little more cheese and put it in the oven for 35-40 minutes at 180 degrees.
