How to keep makeup in the heat: effective tips from a makeup artist
The best thing you can do for your skin in the heat is to avoid wearing makeup altogether, except, of course, for a good quality sunscreen. However, if going out in public without makeup is not your option, here are some effective tips to help you keep your makeup on in the heat.
Your face remains flawless regardless of the weather if you use a few simple but effective techniques. The details were shared by beauty expert Hayley Walker, who has over 20 years of experience in the industry.
The 15-minute rule
Dermatologists insist that you should wear SPF cream every day to protect yourself from UV rays, regardless of the weather. Before applying makeup, allow the product to absorb into the skin for at least 15 minutes.
"Applying makeup immediately after SPF can interfere with the absorption process, meaning it can lead to uneven coverage and reduced protection," Walker said.
Primer
Primer is an important step in your daily makeup routine during the heat of the day. It is crucial for makeup to stay put all day long. Primer makes the surface smooth for makeup and provides additional moisture.
Less is more
Applying more layers of makeup increases the likelihood that your makeup will be uneven by the end of the day. Opt for a lightweight foundation, bushy eyebrows, and glossy lips for a summer makeup look that will last all day.
Waterproofing
Switching to waterproof products will help you avoid makeup damage during the day. Choose a waterproof, lightweight, oil-free foundation and make sure to remove waterproof mascara with a makeup remover at the end of the day.
Matte foundation
"A matte foundation is more resistant to sweat than a foundation with a dewy dewy effect," the expert said. Matte foundation melts or breaks down less when exposed to moisture.
Certain parts of the face are more prone to shine, so apply translucent powder to the T-zone. Do not use too much powder. A setting spray permanently prevents smudging and melting of makeup in hot weather.
