How to get rid of weeds between gravel without aggressive means: effective methods
Weeds can grow anywhere in your garden or yard, but they can be a lot more frustrating to remove if they appear between gravel.
To pull them out along with their long roots, you need to work your way through stones to get to the soil. But, as it turned out, getting rid of weeds can be surprisingly easy – and you don't need to spend a lot of time pulling them out or using chemicals, OBOZ.UA writes.
Use boiling water
It may seem too obvious, but boiling water is one of the most effective ways to kill weeds because the high temperature destroys plant cells and causes them to break down.
What's fantastic about this method is that if you pour the hot water directly at the base of the plant, it will reach the roots to stop it from growing back.
Make a homemade weed killer
To make a natural solution that will kill weeds quickly, you can use white vinegar, salt, and a few drops of detergent.
The acetic acid of the vinegar dries out the weeds, and the salt dehydrates them. The soap helps the solution to stick to the leaves. All you have to do is mix the solution in a container and wait for a sunny day to pour it on the weeds.
White vinegar and salt alone will not kill weeds because the mixture cannot penetrate the plant, but dishwashing liquid, because it contains surfactants, can, which is why this solution is so effective.
Just be careful not to splash this solution on your grass or any other favorite flower beds nearby, as it will kill any plants it touches.
Purchase an environmentally friendly commercial weed killer
If you don't mind spending a little money, there are many natural weed killers that you can buy at local garden stores.
Just be careful when looking at the labels to make sure it's safe to use in your garden.
