How to get a better hotel room without paying extra: these are tricks many people didn't know about
Very often, travelers are advised to book hotel rooms in advance to avoid being on the street in a foreign city or country, but this can minimize the chances of getting a better room for free. Experienced travelers know a few life hacks on how to relax in improved conditions and not overpay.
The editors of the Mirror website wrote about their tricks. Anyone can use them (scroll to the bottom of the page to see the photos).
Don't rush to register
If there is an opportunity to delay registration, you should take it. First-come, first-served visitors are usually given keys to mediocre rooms, keeping the superior rooms for important occasions or guests. However, when demand exceeds the hotel's supply, tourists may be offered rooms that have been reserved for a "special occasion." This is not a standard-priced suite, of course, but a newer or tidier room that can be obtained at no extra charge.
Register on the site
Many vacation destinations usually have a loyalty system. For registering on the website, they sometimes offer bonuses, the opportunity to upgrade your room, receive a gift upon check-in, etc. You shouldn't neglect such offers, because regular guests are valued more than casual visitors.
Don't be patient
A very common problem among hotel guests is the silence of problems. If during check-in it was indicated that the room has air conditioning, TV, a view from the window and a cleaned room, tourists have the right to ask for another room if any of the items are not true. The hotel is interested in good reviews, so it can offer a better room to avoid a scandal.
