How to clean a yoga mat with natural ingredients
You will need:
- 1/2 cup of vinegar;
- 2 tablespoons of baking soda;
- tea tree oil;
- water.
- In a spray bottle, mix ½ cup of vinegar, 2 tablespoons of baking soda, and a few drops of tea tree oil. Add water.
- Spray the solution on a towel or microfiber cloth and wipe the rug.
- You can use this cleaner after each use to control the growth of dirt and bacteria.
How to clean your yoga mat with a steam cleaner
- Be sure to check the label and care instructions on your yoga mat before using a steam cleaner. Some materials can be damaged by high temperatures.
- Place your mat on a clean, flat surface. Steam the mat in a linear motion, using straight strokes along the length of the mat. Make sure the entire surface is steamed.
- Turn the mat over and repeat the process on the other side.

Vera Peterson, president of Molly Maid, added that some mats can be washed in a machine with a delicate mode without using bleach or aggressive agents, but first of all, it is worth checking the tips on the label.
