How to choose the perfect nude lipstick: tips
Experienced makeup artists say that choosing the right shade of nude lipstick can be even more difficult than finding your perfect red. After all, you have to take into account many more factors to perfectly blend this color into trendy invisible makeup.
Makeup artist Melissa Gigliotti gave her advice on choosing a nude lipstick to Body+Soul. She emphasized that caramel, peach, muted pink, pinkish-brown tones, and deeper shades of mocha and brown can be considered nude. It all depends on your natural skin color, which can be very different.
To find the option that suits you, the makeup expert advises starting with the exact definition of your skin tone. Take a closer look at the color of the veins that can be seen under it. If they are purple-blue, then your skin has a cold tone, if they are greenish, then it is warm. Blue-green veins indicate a neutral skin tone.
Based on this, take a closer look at the appropriate range of lipsticks. People with colder skin should look for pink and peach shades. While warmer skin will look good with shades of honey, caramel, terracotta, and apricot. "Look for a color that is a few shades lighter or darker than your skin tone, but never the same shade," Melissa advised. A nude lipstick that matches your skin tone can make your face look too pale.
The makeup artist advises to choose a pencil or eyeliner that is 3-4 shades darker than the lipstick. To avoid looking like you've just arrived from the nineties, she recommends blending the inner edge of the eyeliner with a small lip brush and then applying the lipstick itself. In this case, your look will be both natural and luxurious.
