How to change thin eyebrows beyond recognition: a makeup life hack

Thin, sparse, and too light eyebrows can be a problem if you want to achieve expressive makeup. And such changes can happen to them, for example, due to age. Fortunately, you can fix the situation with the help of skillful makeup.

Professional eyebrow artist @laurawiththegoodbrows shared the main secrets of how to work with thin eyebrows on her TikTok. She used her 70-year-old mother as a model. The woman has naturally short eyebrows, and with age, they also became less bright and thick. Laura set out to fix it.

Step 1: define the starting point of the brow

Mastering this technique requires some practice, but there is nothing complicated about it. Place the pencil on the wing of your nose so that it points in the direction of your eyebrow and passes through the inner corner of your eye. Where it intersects with the eyebrow line is your ideal starting point.

From this point to the first natural hairs, draw a few thin vertical strokes with a pencil of the color you like. Next, fill in the gaps in the eyebrow itself and round the tail to the outer corner of the eye, creating the desired shape. Comb the natural hairs with a brush.

Step 2: create volume

Take an eyebrow gel in a suitable shade. Give preference to products that provide volume. Paint the hairs with this gel, combing them upwards. This should create a natural volume of the eyebrow, making it visually thick and fluffy.

Step 3: emphasize the brow line

Lastly, take a light eye pencil or concealer and draw a neat, subtle line under the brow to highlight the area. Blend thoroughly to soften the line and give your skin a natural glow. It will also help to make the gaze more open and the arch itself higher, i.e. to rejuvenate the face in general.

Laura advised those who are afraid that their technique of drawing hairs is far from perfect, not to worry about it. "You don't have to make perfect hair-like strokes. This is normal. Your hair grows in different directions, and I want it to look natural," she wrote. With practice will come greater skill.
