These flowers delight with a variety of colors and are one of the most popular harbingers of spring. Giving hyacinths in pots has been a floral trend in recent years, but delicate plants need proper care to make them look good for a really long time.

The Interia Kobieta publication told us how to do it correctly. There are a few simple rules that will help the flower look stunning and maintain flowering for a long time.

Of course, the key is watering. A hyacinth growing in a pot at home should always have slightly moist soil. Therefore, you need to water it regularly. But watering should be moderate. Especially when the plant is in bloom. The optimal average frequency is once a week.

It is also important to avoid waterlogging and getting water on the flowers, leaves or bulbs. This can lead to rotting of individual parts or the entire flower. That is why the best method for hyacinths is bottom watering. It is best to place the pot on a stand or in a bowl of water and let the soil absorb as much water as it needs, and drain off the excess.

Another problem that can arise from watering too intensively is rapid flowering. Therefore, always let the potting soil dry out before moistening it again.

Place the hyacinth pot in a well-lit place. But the temperature should be moderate - the flower feels best during flowering in conditions when the thermometer does not cross the 20-degree mark. Therefore, it is better not to place hyacinths near radiators or far from a window. Also, protect the pot from sudden changes in temperature and drafts.

Pay attention to the soil in which the flower grows. It should be loose - well permeable to water, but fertile. The reaction of the substrate should be close to neutral.

If you want to move the plant from the pot to the garden or flower bed, wait for consistently warm weather. As a rule, optimal conditions occur in mid-April, when the probability of frost is greatly reduced. However, keep an eye on the weather forecast - the flower should not freeze while adapting to new conditions.
