But chef John Torod recently shared on his TikTok channel thismorning how to cook chicken properly to get a crispy skin and juicy center. It turns out that there is a fairly simple life hack for this.

The chef says that you should put a few halved lemons, some sage, and a few ice cubes inside the chicken. Of course, salt and pepper should also be added. The expert explains that this way all the seasonings, as well as the lemon, will penetrate the chicken from the inside. After all, if you rub the skin with them, the taste of the chicken itself will not change much.

If the ice cubes are inside the chicken, they start to melt during the heat treatment. As a result, steam passes through the entire chicken meat, making it tasty and moist. Even better, the chicken will be saturated with moisture and flavors if you roll the ice cubes in salt and pepper. This way, they will melt more slowly.
