Saint Lucia

For those who are tired of standard vacation destinations and are ready to fly to the ends of the earth in search of adventure, there is a great winter vacation option. The Caribbean island of Saint Lucia will be an ideal choice, as it is an oasis of lush green mountains, palm-fringed beaches, and heat in the midst of winter.

Saint Lucia enjoys tropical weather all year round, and the period from November to January is part of the dry season. The Express magazine told us about a vacation in the Caribbean.

Saint Lucia is located on an island in the Lesser Antilles archipelago. It borders on the island of Martinique, in the south - on the island of St. Vincent. The island is washed by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea to the west. The total length of the coastline is 158 km.

The island is of volcanic origin, and therefore more mountainous than most others in the Caribbean archipelago.

The rainy season ends in November, with average daytime temperatures hovering around 28-30°C.

December marks the beginning of the peak travel season. Rainfall decreases significantly, and you will find clear sunny skies, clean beaches, and a perfect tropical climate.

January in the Caribbean is also quite hot, with average temperatures around 28°C, minimal rain and fresh ocean breezes, making it the best time for outdoor activities or diving.

St. Lucia offers more than just great beaches. This island is known for its stunning landscapes, rich culture and diverse selection of activities and entertainment for the most discerning travelers.

No trip to St. Lucia would be complete without a visit to the Pitons, two volcanic spires that rise dramatically from the Caribbean Sea.

Gros Piton and Petit Piton, both UNESCO World Heritage sites, offer breathtaking views and hiking opportunities for those who want to experience the island's natural beauty up close.

Near the town of Soufriere is the world's only "self-contained volcano". Sulphur Springs is a unique opportunity to explore the boiling geothermal springs and try therapeutic mud baths. The mineral-rich mud is known for its soothing and rejuvenating properties.

There are numerous protected natural areas on the island:

  • Pigeon Island National Park;
  • Frigate Island Nature Reserve;
  • Maria Island Nature Reserve;
  • Rainforest National Park;
  • Mankote-Mangrove Reserve.
