Earlier, Car and Driver experts decided to hold a competition between inexpensive sedans in the mass segment. Premium expensive cars did not participate. They chose between Toyota Camry, Subaru Legacy, Honda Accord, and Hyundai Sonata.
After thorough testing and head-to-head comparisons, the winner was determined – the Honda Accord. The authors liked the smooth ride and low fuel consumption. Among the disadvantages, they noted a limited list of equipment and cheap finishing materials.
The other three models were criticized for their unpleasant handling. The Hyundai Sonata also did not like the brakes, and the Toyota Camry had poor noise insulation. At the same time, the disadvantage of the Subaru Legacy was called too high a price compared to competitors, while the advantages were powerful engines and a spacious interior.
The Camry's advantages included high-quality assembly. The Sonata sedan was noted for its stylish design and good interior finish.
