H&M, Mango and more: 5 royal personas who wear mass-market clothes. Photo
Royalty often appears in public in luxury clothing that most of us can only dream of. They treat these items with care: they wear them for years (or even decades!) and then patch or alter them to update the fit.
Why is this? Because titled persons, despite their wealth, tend to save money. This is also evident in the fact that they often wear things from brands with affordable prices (Gap, Zara, etc.). Read more about this in the OBOZ.UA article.
1. Kate Middleton
The wife of the heir to the British throne, Prince William, Princess Kate Middleton of Wales, attended the SportsAid Stars event in London in 2020. She wore a green ribbed knit sweater by Mango, emerald culottes by Zara, and white sneakers by Marks & Spencer. For her honeymoon in 2011, Catherine chose a blue pleated dress by Zara. Her other favorite mass-market brands include: Topshop, Gap and Asos.
2. Meghan Markle
In 2019, the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle wore a modest H&M dress during a visit to the Mayhew Animal Welfare charity organization. This beige silhouette dress has no decor and colorful prints - simple and elegant!
Later, in 2020, Prince Harry 's wife arrived at Canada House to meet with Janice Charette, the Canadian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. The Duchess wore a noble brown sweater by Massimo Dutti.
3. Queen Letizia of Spain
In 2019, Her Majesty Letizia wore a snakeskin skirt to an event at the Sarsuela Palace, which she purchased at her favorite Zara store. And in 2022, the Queen attended a charity event in Valencia, wearing a bright pink dress with spicy cutouts by Cayro. This outfit perfectly emphasized Letizia's fragile figure.
4. Princess Eugenie
Not only clothes but also accessories from the mass market are worn by royals. In 2018, Eugenie, Princess of York, wore Mr. Boho sunglasses in the Jordaan style to the wedding of Charlie Van Straubenzie, a school friend of Prince Harry. This frame is incredibly suitable for this lady.
5. Princess Sofia of Sweden
In 2018, Duchess Sophia of Vermland attended Crown Princess Victoria's 41st birthday celebration. At the time, the guest of honor wore a delicate floral print dress from the & Other Stories brand. This is a German online clothing and accessories store that strives to create a harmonious combination of style, quality, and affordability.
