"Hit hard": fire breaks out after explosion in Stary Oskol, Belgorod region. Video

On the evening of Friday, April 19, an explosion occurred in the city of Stary Oskol, Belgorod Region. It was followed by a fire at the substation.

This was reported in local public media. Before the explosion, a distinctive buzzing of a UAV was heard, similar to the sound of a Shahed kamikaze drone.

"Hit hard. The drone was allegedly shot down," a local commented on the explosion. However, he was wrong about the latter.

Mobile air defense teams were on duty near the facility in Stary Oskol, the belnarrepublic Telegram channel reported. However, this did not help protect it from attack.

The channel also published the coordinates of the facility where a fire broke out after the explosion. It is the 500/330/110 kV Stary Oskol electrical substation.
