Hello, pink and purple! 8 trendy hair colors for summer 2024

Many beauties are replacing cold, neutral tones with golden blonde and rich chocolate. Colorist Reece Walker, who has worked with top designers such as Victoria Beckham, expects girls to experiment with trendy colors.

"The carefree spirit of the season allows you to show individuality and self-expression," the expert told Bustle. "The key is to choose shades that complement your skin tone and personality, creating a look that is both relevant and unique to you," she added.

Luxurious brunette

Hailey Bieber recently dyed her hair warm colors. "We're going to see a shift from harsh trends to black hair color and softer brunettes that are warmer in tone and shimmer with natural shades of dark cocoa," says Shwonne Perkins, master colorist.

Sun-drenched golden blonde

Warm blonde hair that mimics the golden glow of the sun is likely to be a summer 24 favorite – unlike the icy platinum blondes seen this winter. "This color is great because it adds volume to the hair. Whether you decide to use the color all the way through or prefer highlights, warm tones will perfectly complement your base color," says the expert.

Cold copper

Although summer tends to be more of a natural aesthetic, Walker predicts that bright red tones will remain on trend: "Red provides warmth and intensity to the hair. While it can be a bold choice, adding soft highlights that create a deep coppery red can create a beautiful natural color that complements different skin tones."

Peach

Experts expect peach tones to be the main colors this summer. Especially since peach is Pantone's color of the year. For those who prefer a vacation at sea, Walker recommends wetting their hair with plain water before swimming. "This helps your hair absorb less chlorine or salt water, reducing the risk of fading or color damage," she says.

Purple violet

For those who are not afraid of color, purple shades will be an interesting choice. "Add deep conditioning treatments to your regular hair care routine to keep your strands moisturized and healthy," advises Walker.

Rays of the sun

While bright golden blonde colors are also on trend, softer shades are a staple for summer. "This color is probably the most timeless for me," says Walker, "A natural-looking blonde with soft highlights gives a relaxed beach vibe for summer.

Pastel pink

"I've always loved fun pastels, and I'm seeing a resurgence of the marshmallow pink trend," says the expert, mentioning stars like Karol G, Kylie Jenner, and Megan Fox.

Sophisticated cool brown

While summer 2024 is likely to be remembered for its warm tones and colorful hues, Walker says one cool color will still be on trend: "Over the past few months, there have been more and more clients asking for a cool brown color that gives them a chic and sophisticated look."
