Hvozdyk praised Lomachenko

Former light heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Hvozdyk (20-2, 16 KOs) admitted that he doesn't care about the future of former three-division belt holder Vasyl Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs). Commenting on the rumors about his compatriot's retirement, the Kharkiv resident said that he was not interested in it.

Hvozdyk said this in an interview with sport-express.ua. "I don't know. I don't think about him at all. I'm not interested in him," the boxer said harshly.

He also called Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) the best fighter in the history of Ukraine. According to Hvozdyk, the Simferopol native has already surpassed the achievements of the Klitschko brothers.

"Sasha has long surpassed them. After his first fight with Fury, Usyk became an absolute in the heavyweight division, before that he was in the cruiserweight division, and the Klitschko brothers were never absolutes, although they gave a huge impetus to the development of boxing in Ukraine," Hvozdyk emphasized.

At the end of last year, it was reported that Vasyl Lomachenko was retiring. However, later it turned out that the news was fake.

In May, Lomachenko defeated Australian George Kambosos (21-3, 10 KOs) and won the vacant world title according to the International Boxing Federation (IBF).
