The night of September 18 was an extraordinary night in astronomy. The world's inhabitants could observe a whole parade of fantastic phenomena - the September Full Moon, Supermoon and lunar eclipse.

In the evening, a real giant, the Harvest Supermoon, rose to the sky. And in the pre-dawn hours, a partial lunar eclipse took place.

As soon as the moon rolled out into the sky, it was impressive in its size and brightness. It's not just a full moon, it's the second of four consecutive supermoons in 2024. According to scientists, the term "supermoon" describes a full moon that is closest to the Earth, which is why it appears so large.

However, at 05:13, this round beauty began to sink into the Earth's shadow. Residents of Ukraine could see the darkening of the southern lunar limb, but the maximum shadow phase of the eclipse occurred at 05:44. However, it was a partial eclipse and lasted only until 06:16, when the Moon completely left the Earth's shadow, and at 07:47 our satellite lost its penumbra.

The supermoon and its eclipse were observed in Europe, North and South America (except Alaska), most of Africa, West Asia, and parts of Antarctica. The lunar eclipse occurred in different parts of the world at different times.

Those who didn't have time to see the Harvest Supermoon last night will have the opportunity to do so for a few days. However, without an eclipse.

Astrologers emphasize that on September 18, the eclipse corridor will open, that is, the period from lunar to solar eclipse, which can be observed already on October 2, 2024.
