Petrusenko can become a player of Girona
Oleksandr Petrusenko, a midfielder of the Croatian club Istria, is close to joining the Ukrainian diaspora in Catalan club Girona. The 26-year-old footballer is negotiating with the Spanish club, which will make its Champions League debut in the fall.
This was reported by the authoritative publication Mundo Deportivo. According to the source, Petrusenko is expected to sign a contract with Girona in the near future and join the new team, which already includes Artem Dovbyk and Viktor Tsygankov, by the end of July. In it, the Ukrainian is to replace Aleix Garcia, who signed a contract with Bayer Leverkusen after last season's enchanting performance.
Petrusenko is a product of Dynamo Kyiv, but he never played a minute for the first team. After he left the capital's club, the defender played for Hirnyk-Sport and Minay, from which he moved to Hungarian side Gonved. Before the start of the 2022/2023 season, he signed a contract with Istria from Croatia.
Last season, the Ukrainian played 30 matches for the team from Pula, giving two assists. Petrusenko's transfer value is estimated at one million euros. He has played several matches for the national youth team.
