Ukrainians will play in two tournaments
In 2025, the Ukrainian national football team will play in the Nations League playoffs for the right to play in the tournament's elite division and will also compete in the 2026 World Cup. "The Blue and Yellows" also plan to hold several sparring matches, the opponents for which will be determined later.
Our team will play eight official matches. The first one will take place on March 20, when Serhii Rebrov's wards will host the Belgian national team in the Nations League. In addition, in September, the Ukrainians will start in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, where their rivals will be Azerbaijan, Iceland, as well as France or Croatia.

We would like to remind you that 48 teams will participate in the 2026 World Cup for the first time in history. Europe will be represented by 16 teams – 12 group winners and the four strongest in the playoffs, which will include the second-place teams and four from the League of Nations.
Ukraine has participated in the World Cup only once in its history. At the 2006 World Cup in Germany, the "Blue and Yellows" reached the quarterfinals, where they lost to the eventual winners, the Italians.
