Some of the romances in the Friends series were not liked by the audience

The Friends sitcom, which first aired in 1994 and was broadcast for 10 years, is remembered by many viewers not only for the romantic twists and turns between the main characters, but also for the short-lived romances of Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc.

Recently, the Internet has begun to actively discuss how incorrect and "creepy" some of the scenes were. In particular, those that concerned the romances of Monica, Ross and Rachel with their on-screen partners, Metro writes.

Particular attention was paid to the episodes of season 6, which featured Bruce Willis as Paul Stevens, whose daughter Elizabeth was a student and Ross's girlfriend. Viewers were confused by the fact that the relationship between a teacher and a young girl with a 12-year age difference was allowed and presented as quite normal in the series.

'I liked Bruce Willis' participation in the series, but the storyline with Elizabeth for Ross was weird and creepy. And inappropriate. He should have been fired for it,' shared one of the series' fans.

Another romance that seemed immoral to the audience was Monica's relationship with Richard, who was 21 years older than the heroine. The sitcom made it quite clear that she literally grew up in front of her father's friend, but he was able to develop romantic feelings for Monica.

Eventually, they broke up, but only because the hero did not want to have children with his younger girlfriend, although he later changed his mind.

"People who defend Richard really annoy me. He has a daughter the same age as Monica, and he has seen Monica grow up. He is literally her uncle. If you ignore the age difference, it's very unpleasant," they said online.

The last couple that did not evoke warm feelings in the audience was Rachel and Paul (Elizabeth's father). In the story, they faced more than a 10-year age difference.

And although these feelings raised the fewest questions from the audience, the atmosphere on the screen was rather awkward.
