Rating of the worst American cars

Some car models are overpriced. They will constantly drain your wallet because of maintenance or repair problems. Moreover, the high cost is not offset by either reliability or quality.

Experts have published a rating of overrated cars that you should refrain from buying. These models will cause not only additional financial costs but also problems on the roads.

Chrysler 300

The Chrysler 300 was ranked No. 6 on Money Inc.'s list of 20 Cars to Avoid at All Costs in 2023. According to this review, the Chrysler 300 "lags behind its competitors in technology, its performance isn’t as refined as other cars in its class, and its design may seem outdated compared to some of the newer models." The Chrysler 300 is more expensive than many of its competitors, and it can be difficult to find replacement parts during repairs.

Buick Encore GX

According to an analysis by Consumer Reports, Buick made TopSpeed's list of the 15 Most Unreliable Car Brands of 2023 with a predicted reliability rating of 54 out of 100. The 2023 Encore GX was named one of the worst models to buy. The common problems include high average maintenance costs, brake, engine, and fuel system malfunctions.

Ford Explorer

The Explorer made it to Torque News' list of the Worst Cars, SUVs, and Trucks You Can Buy in 2023. According to one review, the Explorer is priced too high "for a regular 3-row SUV," making it a poor choice compared to other models. The drawbacks are insufficient performance, poor reliability, and a boring interior. The Explorer is simply not competitive in the car market.

Dodge Caravan

The car was included in the anti-ratings mainly because of low performance and high fuel consumption. The Dodge Caravan has slow acceleration despite its powerful engine.

Cadillac XT4 Sport

In its review, Motor1 noted that "there's no good reason" to choose the Cadillac XT4 over the similarly priced but better BMW X3, Genesis GV70, and Lexus NX. Among the problems of the XT4 are a low-quality engine and a cramped interior.

Lincoln Aviator

Lincoln made it to the aforementioned TopSpeed's list of the most unreliable car brands with a predicted rating of 54/100. The worst named models were the 2023 and 2021 Aviator. According to TopSpeed, the Aviator has problems with electronics, drive and suspension systems, steering, etc.
