For the first time in history! An incredible event happened at the Biathlon World Cup

For the first time in the history of the French women's biathlon team, six different athletes won medals at the World Cup in ten individual races. This is a record and a unique achievement in the history of French biathlon, Nordicmag writes.

None of the races ended in a double and only two races ended without French women in the top 3, which is an incredible opportunity for the world women's biathlon.

Lou Jeanmono was the first to score (four wins - in Kontiolahti, Hogfilzen, Oberhof and Ruhpolding), followed by Julia Simon (two second places - in Kontiolahti and Grand Bornant), Sophie Chauvet (second place in Hogfilzen), Justine Breza-Boucher (victory in Grand Bornand), Paula Botet (victory in Oberhof) and finally Jeanne Richard (third place in Ruhpolding).

In the current French national team, only Asean Michelon from Bougiers has not yet reached the podium. However, she took fourth place twice in January, which leaves her a good chance to join the others. Thus, seven French women are likely to finish the season with podiums.

The success of French biathlon is also confirmed by the results of the men - five representatives of the national team have already climbed to the podium this season: Emilien Jacquelin, Fabien Claude, Eric Perrault, Kenten Fillon-Mayeux and Emilien Claude.

As OBOZ.UA reported, the day before, the Ukrainian biathlon team held a dramatic relay race at the 6th stage of the World Cup, which is currently taking place in Italy. Dmytro Pidruchnyi, Vitaliy Mandzin, Anton Dudchenko and Taras Lesyuk finished in 8th place on the track in Antholz.
