Want to relax by the river with a fishing rod in hand but don't know where to go? Today we present to you a selection of the most promising reservoirs. To learn more, continue reading.

Odesa region

The Sukhyi Estuary is located in the Tairove rural settlement. It is home to carp and bream. The place is constantly maintained: sanitation cleaning and environmental monitoring are carried out all the time. There are also comfortable houses on the shore where you can stay for a few days.

Dnipro region

The Kamianske Reservoir is located on the Dnipro River, partially in several oblasts: Kropyvnytskyi, Poltava, and Dnipro regions. An interesting fact: it was formed as a result of the construction of a hydroelectric power plant in 1963-1964.

Nowadays, the area is used for several purposes: energy, water transport, water supply, and fish farming. More than 30 species of fish live here: pike, pike perch, catfish, and crayfish.

Keep in mind that you cannot fish here during the spawning season, namely from early April to mid-June.

Chernihiv region

Solonetske Lake is located near the town of Oster. It is connected to the Desna River. Here you can catch carp, pike, perch, and bream.

The Maiorskyi Pond in Kachanivka is home to crucian carp, grass carp, and silver carp.

Fishermen also like to catch underwater inhabitants in the village of Zanky, 20 kilometers from Nizhyn. There are also special places for recreation here.

Zhytomyr region

Sluch is not only a great location for fishing but also home to many rare fish. You can catch pike, roach, and bream here. However, keep in mind that in order to preserve the unique ecosystem of the river, you should not forget about the ban on fishing for Red Book species. Thus, be sure to release the Dnieper barbel, lake minnow, Ukrainian brook lamprey, etc.

Kyiv region

The Kyiv Reservoir boasts a good catch. It was created in 1964-1966 during the construction of a hydroelectric power plant. The Teteriv, Irpin, and Pripiat rivers also flow into it.

By the way, when the quarry was flooded, some villages went underwater: Starosillia, Oshytyky, Tarasovychi, Borky, etc.

Today, you can catch catfish, carp, pike perch, crucian carp, and perch here. There are also paid and free fishing areas. You can also stay in a house or rent a tent nearby.

Vinnytsia region

We recommend choosing the Ros River for fishing. It is a tributary of the Dnipro River that flows into the Black Sea. The river usually freezes in December, and the ice stays until March.

The waters are home to about 40 species of fish. The most common "trophies" are roach, rudd, silver carp, gudgeon and European bittern. In addition, perch and ruff can be found here. Spinning fishing enthusiasts like to "hunt" for them.

Kropyvnytskyi region

The village of Kutsevolivka, Oleksandriia district, is a real fishing "Eldorado". The sharp drops in the depths of the Dnipro River create unique conditions for a variety of underwater inhabitants.

Here you can catch catfish, pike, bream, crucian carp, pike perch or roach. And after fishing, we recommend relaxing at one of the local bases. You can rent houses and boats here. There is also the necessary tackle.

Lviv region

For those who like fishing, we recommend going to Zadorozhne in Stryi district. The lake was formed on the site of an old sand quarry. Locals often call it "Baikal." The reservoir is rich in trout, perch, pike, and roach.

Khmelnytskyi region

The flooded village of Bakota in the Kamianets-Podilskyi district is considered a real mecca for fishing enthusiasts. It is famous for its clear water of the Dniester River, picturesque landscapes, and diversity of fish. It is also home to several recreation centers.

Here you can catch a large bream or catfish.

Important! We advise you to check the spawning period before your trip as it varies from location to location.

Choose a spot and call your friends! We wish you a good catch!
