Ternopil: what to see in the city

If you thought this region was known only for a song by the Hadyukin Brothers or a rock music festival, sit back! We are going to tell you about its tourist attractions.

Ternopil Castle

This is an architectural monument of national importance. It can be seen on the new coat of arms of Ternopil. The structure was built to defend against attacks by the Crimean Tatars. Although only the courtyard of the palace has been preserved, you can still feel its former massiveness and grandeur.

Ternopil Lake

The wide promenade, park areas with benches, and cafes overlooking the pond are an ideal place for a romantic evening. Water birds can often be seen here. Therefore, for lovers of beautiful photos, this location will become one of their favorites. In winter, a skating rink is opened here, and there is even an opportunity to play hockey.

The lake is located in the central part of the city, so you won't have to wander around to find it.

Island of lovers

To make sure you win the heart of your loved one, we recommend visiting this location. It can be found inside the same reservoir. You can get there by boat, raft, or across a bridge.

Aeration fountain

Again, without going far from the lake, you can admire the longest aeration fountain in Ukraine. It is not only beautiful but also performs an extremely important job: it prevents water from "blooming".

Champs Elysees

A park in the center of Ternopil that impresses with its greenery and design. The location is often used as an arena for various cultural events and concerts. A great place for a family vacation or a picnic with friends.

Theater Square

Very beautiful architecture and a wide area make it possible to organize various festivities here. Every year, the National Flag Day of Ukraine is celebrated here, and a Christmas tree is set up. There is also a monument to Solomia Krushelnytska, an opera singer and teacher.

Venetian courtyard

Here you will feel like you are on the shores of the Adriatic Sea. Previously, many scientific departments and even a women's gymnasium functioned here. The location attracts visitors with the opportunity to relax in the open air.

Ternopil tripartite clock

The symbol is located on a tower in the central part of the city. It is an element of the City Hall ensemble. It is the most popular meeting place for Ternopil residents, like the "hundred-meter" in front of the Opera House in Lviv. There are only two such clocks in the world: in Ternopil and in the French province of Amiens. Their mechanism is very complicated, which makes them unique.

National Renaissance Park

Once upon a time, a Ternopil spring flowed here, enveloping the Singing Field. The attraction itself is a huge space designed for concert performances. By the way, there is even an amphitheater for spectators and a stage for performers.

Gipsy Beach

Here you can hide from the summer heat, organize meetings with friends on the coastal area or lie on beach beds. There are a lot of entertainment options here (for example, water rides), and sometimes you can get to interesting festivals.

Although Ternopil seems quite tiny, this does not affect its tourist potential. You can come here at any time of the year and have a great time. After all, in two days of the weekend, Faine misto will make every tourist fall in love with it.
