"Everything is stolen": Russian Olympic champion complained about his country's corruption scheme failure at IOC

Tikhonov complained about theft in Russia

Former biathlete Alexander Tikhonov was upset that Russia failed to create a corruption scheme to influence the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and its president Thomas Bach. The four-time Olympics winner said the main reason for the failure of this scheme was the theft of money in a terrorist state.

Tikhonov said this in a commentary to the RIA Novosti propaganda news agency. According to the henchman of the dictatorial regime of Vladimir Putin, the IOC is allegedly controlled by the United States, and the Russian representatives who are members of the organization do not have any influence.

"The IOC is sponsored by America for more than 50%. And we have not invested a single ruble because everything has been stolen. If we had become sponsors of the IOC, Thomas Bach would have been on our side. Thus, the finances would have been ours as whoever pays the money orders the music. And we haven't invested a single penny in the IOC. Not a single one of our representatives is left in the IOC. Elena Isinbayeva, who fled Russia, and Shamil Tarpishchev are respected people and my friends, but they don't decide anything at the IOC," Tikhonov said.

As a reminder, the IOC has temporarily suspended the membership of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), which illegally included Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson councils in its membership.

In addition, the IOC made Russians into hysteria with a statement about the war in Israel. In particular, biathlon champion Sergei Chepikov repeated Kremlin propaganda narratives about the fight against the "Anglo-Saxon world."

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov threatened "revenge" on the IOC because of its position on the aggressor country.
