"Emily in Paris" topped the top series on Netflix: when will new episodes be released and which characters will appear

The Netflix streaming service has finally pleased its viewers with the first part of the 4th season of the hit romantic comedy-drama show "Emily in Paris". The 5 episodes were launched on the platform on August 15 and immediately topped the rating of the most popular premieres in Ukraine.

When will the second part of the "Emily in Paris" season be released

With this show, Netflix continued its strategy of dividing the seasons of the most popular series into two parts. This allows us to keep attention to projects at a fairly high level for a long time.

So fans of "Emily in Paris" will have to wait almost a month for the release of the remaining 5 episodes of the second season. The premiere of the final episodes of this part is scheduled for September 12. All of them will be traditionally released simultaneously. The final episode will be directed by the showrunner, the legendary maestro of the TV series Darren Starr ("Beverly Hills 90210", "Melrose Place", "Sex and the City").

In this part of the show, Emily, played by Lily Collins, continues to test her feelings for Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), which are interfered with by the situation with Camille (Camille Razat). Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) will try to save her marriage, and Mindy (Ashley Park) and her band will continue preparing for the Eurovision Song Contest.

"In season four, Emily has a busy travel schedule. From the French Alps to the piazzas of Rome, viewers will see new and amazing places through Emily's eyes. Expect new characters, much more drama, romance, and a whole new language to try to master," Darren Star promised the fans of the series.

Will there be new characters in the fourth season

To keep the tension in the plot, the series authors will introduce several new characters. Among them will be guest stars. Eugenio Franceschini will play Marcello, a native of Rome. And Anna Galiena will embody Antonia, his influential mother.

Thalia Besson, daughter of director Luc Besson, was cast in the project as Genevieve, Laurent's daughter from a previous relationship who has just moved from New York to Paris. Emily will become her mentor, helping her to conquer the French capital.

The cast also includes British star Rupert Everett. He will play Giorgio Barbieri, the owner of an international interior design company. His office is based in Rome. In the story, Giorgio is an old friend of Sylvie's.

Will "Emily in Paris" have a sequel

Fans of the series are very hopeful that it will get a fifth season. But for now, nothing is known for sure about Netflix's plans for it. There are only a few indirect hints.

In June, at an amfAR event during the Cannes Film Festival, Winnie Harlow and Paris Jackson announced that a cameo role in the fifth season of "Emily in Paris" would be auctioned off. In addition, there was no news in the press about the show's closure. And Netflix usually announces it before the last episodes air, not after.

The fact that Darren Starr is not one of those who easily part with his characters also gives hope to the fans of the series. "For me, great characters in a great series are the ones I find hard to let go of and say goodbye to. They always take you to different places. If you look at Sex and the City, it's still going on 25 years later," the producer and director said in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
