In the third qualifying round of the Champions League, Dynamo Kyiv defeated Scottish Rangers in the return leg to reach the playoffs. The match at Hampden Park ended with a score of 0:2. The first game a week ago ended in a 1-1 draw.

The hosts seized the initiative from the first minutes, completely dominating the field. The Ukrainians spent almost all their time on defense, repelling one attack after another. Dynamo managed to organize the first attack only in the 10th minute when Yarmolenko did not have time to react to Karavaiev's shot.

The Scots were pressing very hard, and with Dynamo's quick transition from defense to attack, they sometimes couldn't keep up with the Ukrainians.

Towards the middle of the half, the game leveled off. Dangerous moments arose on the approaches to the penalty areas of both teams but without shots on goal.

The hosts still played with an advantage, but soon Dynamo began to show themselves. The left flank was especially active, but no one closed several potentially dangerous passes.

Kabaiev dealt with his opponents very well, but the effectiveness of such actions was almost zero.

At the beginning of the second half, Rangers remained in the minority. Jefté, who had received a warning in the first half, continued to foul brutally. In the 50th minute, the Brazilian hit Karavaiev in the ear with his elbow in the fight for the ball and received a second yellow card.

Thanks to this, Shovkovskyi's wards transferred the game to the opponent's field and began to create more trouble for the Scottish goalkeeper, but there were still 0 shots.

The first shot on target for the Dynamo came in the 81st minute and was very weak.

However, the second and third "shots" were right on target. A minute later, Oleksandr Pykhalionok, who recently came on the field, put Dynamo ahead with an accurate long-range shot under the bar.

The stunned Rangers players did not have time to recover when Nazar Voloshyn, who also appeared as a substitute, made it 2-0 two minutes later.
