In the 6th round of the Europa League, Dynamo Kyiv lost to Real Sociedad of Spain, saying goodbye even to its mathematical chances of reaching the playoffs. The match in San Sebastian ended with a score of 3-0.
The home team dominated from the first minutes, controlling the game and creating numerous dangerous maneuvers at the Ukrainian goal.
The score was opened in the 19th minute when Denys Popov brought down Mikel Oyarzabal in the penalty area. The victim himself staged an 11-meter shot from the second attempt, finishing it after Bushchan's save.
Later, Becker doubled the lead with a powerful shot into the near corner after a pass from Kubo.
In the 33rd minute, the hosts scored the third goal. Popov made another mistake, which allowed Oyarzabal to score freely over the goalkeeper's head.
The whole first half was dictated by the Spanish team, which is confirmed by the statistics - 19 shots on goal against one for Dynamo.
In the second half, Kyiv's performance did not improve. Several attempts to force attacks with the help of Mykhailenko and Dubinchak ended without any result.
Even after numerous substitutions, the hosts continued to control the game, depriving the Ukrainians of chances to change the course of the match.
