On the night of June 20, drones attacked an oil depot in the Tambov region of Russia. The strike caused a massive fire at the facility.

Russia complains that at least three Ukrainian kamikaze drones struck the refinery. This is reported by propaganda Telegram channels.

The Platon oil depot in the Tambov region was hit by drones. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out. Emergency services are trying to eliminate the fire.

The governor of the Tambov region, Maksim Yegorov, said that "a tank caught fire on the territory of the refinery, probably after a drone attack." The official also said that the remains of a drone "that exploded in the air" were found in the Pervomaisky municipal district.

"This morning, there was a pop and a tank fire on the territory of the Platonovskoye oil depot in the Rozpovetovsky municipal district of Tambov region. The incident was probably caused by a UAV. No one was injured," the official said.

According to open source data, the Platonovsk oil refinery has 22 vertical tanks with a total nominal capacity of 9100 cubic meters. For storage, 14 tanks for diesel fuel and 8 tanks for gasoline are used. The refinery's own private railway track with a railway overpass allows 6 tanks to be emptied simultaneously.

As OBOZ.UA reported, a fire at an oil depot in Azov, Rostov region of the Russian Federation, has been burning for two days now, after it was attacked by drones last night. Local residents report that the flames have spread to other tanks due to strong winds.
