Don't waste your money: 7 winter closet items that will soon become anti-trends
Every woman has opened her wardrobe door and claimed that she had nothing to wear at least once in her life. Deep down, we all know that this is not true.
There is no denying that fashion is cyclical, so fashion influencers have already learned not to give up their favorite things, Who What Wear writes. Nevertheless, some trends get boring because they don't change for a long time. WWW has collected 7 trendy things that you shouldn't invest your money in, looking for more interesting options instead.
No: Down jacket
Yes: Wool coat
"Can I say that down jackets are not in trend? I mean, down jackets aren't really outdated and they will always serve well. But I just don't feel excited about them this winter, even though I'll probably wear a down jacket on the weekend... I'd like to add more classic cuts instead," editor-in-chief Hannah Almassi says.
No: Christmas sweaters
Yes: Jacquard print jumpers
"Christmas jumpers are cute and have their own charm, but compared to the elegant jacquard jumpers that have been hitting the shelves, I'll go with the latter," Shopping Editor Remy Farrell says.
"The influence of the Barbie movie was huge, but the pink trend is gradually fading. I have been tempted by red shades lately. They could be seen on the fall/winter 2023 and spring/summer 2024 runways. I love how fashionistas and celebrities are adding red pieces to their everyday looks to play with the winter neutrals," Affiliate Editor Emily Dawes explained.
No: Satin skirts
Yes: Puffy skirts
"I would like to clarify that I do not consider satin skirts to be out of fashion. In fact, I wear them all the time, and that's the problem: they've lost their luster and appeal. So, I'm going to take a break and wear an A-line midi skirt instead," Deputy Editor Maxine Eggenberger says.
"I have a few velvet pieces in my wardrobe that I love and always choose when I want to feel sophisticated. This winter, however, I'm more drawn to corduroy, which tends to have a more timeless look," editor Poppy Nash says.
No: Stiletto heeled boots
Yes: Boots with heels
"The days of stilettos are over. So I'm grateful for the winter return of the low kitten heel," Joy Ejaria, social media editor.
No: High-waisted pants
Yes: Low-rise pants
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but low-rise is back in fashion. It can be baggy jeans or miniskirts. The lower, the better," Rebecca Rees-Evans, Branded Content Editor.
