Nine out of ten world's deadliest cities for 2022 are in Mexico. This country has the highest murder rate and a terrible reputation as one of the key hubs of international drug trafficking.
This was reported by the Daily Star. Another country whose city was included in the ranking is Mexico's neighbor, the United States. Eighth place went to New Orleans with a murder rate of 70.6 per 100 thousand people.
Some of the Mexican cities exceeded this number, but the first place went to Colima, a city in the southwest of the country. There, this figure is 181.9 people per 100 thousand inhabitants, making Colima the most violent city in the world. Next on the list is Zamora in the center of the country, with 177 murders per 100 thousand.
Ciudad Obregon takes the bronze, followed by Zacatecas, Tijuana, Celaya, Uruapan, Ciudad Juarez, and Acapulco.
